Horn Dog Barley Wine Style Ale

There is grief, and there is sorrow, but there is also recovery. As the old adage says, time heals all wounds. And the conspicuous absence of dog was becoming deafening. So, coming up on three weeks ago, we adopted a dog. At the time, we didn’t completely realize we were adopting a dog.

Bigfoot Barleywine Style Ale

Feet. Amazing things, aren’t they? They’re a ticklish subject, and it’s true we walk all over them, but without our feet, without those seven tarsal bones, five metatarsals, and fourteen phalanges (not to mention the tiny sesamoid bone in the big toe), we wouldn’t have a leg to stand on.

Olde GnarlyWine

Lagunitas Olde GnarlyWine pours stoplight amber with a notable head that graffities alien alphabets upon the glass. Perfume on the nose: floral hops, warm alcohol, toasted malt, and brown sugar. Taste lives up to the promise of the scent. Sweet. Tangy, with notes of toasted cereal and molasses. Medium bodied. Bitter, piney toffee finish. Always a pleasure, but Two Aught 11 is particularly nice.

Barleywine Style Ale

Will I see the green flash? At 10.9%, I just might. Citrus and hops. And hops and citrus. And citrus-y hops. And hoppy… you get the idea. Scrapes the roof of the mouth with initial hoppiness, but improves as you become accustomed to it. Green Flash Barleywine Style Ale is good, but no Olde GnarlyWine. For that matter, it’s not an Old Guardian, either. And I didn’t see any green flash.
